Claire McKay

How long have you been working at McKay and what does your job entail?

It's a little bit of everything! On a day-to-day basis I am working on various marketing projects, lighting design, and sales.

General background and education:

I grew up in Omaha and went to Marian High School, then went to Creighton for undergrad for elementary education. After graduating, I went on to pursue a Masters degree in educational leadership while teaching. I taught in private schools for five years and then was an assistant principal for two years.  Recently, I made the jump to be a part of the family business!

Why do you enjoy working at McKay Lighting?

I definitely love working in a family business atmosphere. Another plus is being able to see first-hand the end result of a beautiful landscape lighting job!

What do you do in your free time?

Some of my favorite hobbies include: Gardening, traveling, walking my dog, and biking.
