The previous post in this series focused on traditional deck lighting, but this post takes a different approach and looks at a few unique outdoor deck lighting ideas. The post features some popular unique deck lighting fixtures that McKay Landscape Lighting has used in our designs. Hanging Glass Globe Lights
The first fixture spotlight is our unique hand-blown glass globes. Previous posts have focused on the traditional garden use of these unique fixtures. The globes pictured above on the left are used as hanging decorations on the deck. It's smallest of the globes, hangs at eye level, and looks as though it's floating midair at night. The larger globes can be used in other areas of the deck, more specifically as the centerpiece of an outdoor table. The hand-blown glass globes are certainly a unique lighting idea that will bring a colorful flair to your deck area.
Copper Downlight - The Starlighter
Another unique idea is the use of another hanging fixture called the starlighter. The fixture, pictured on the right, is perhaps more practical than the hand-blown globes as it provides downlighting to the deck area. The fixture can be hung from a pergola or any overhang above a deck. It has a unique look, and provides a great amount of light to areas of a deck that may not receive light from other areas. Often a pair of these fixtures can create a great effect at night.
