Lake Home Lighting Omaha Nebraska

If you live in Omaha, Nebraska or the surrounding area, the Street of Dreams is the place to go for home inspiration and to see the latest and greatest from Omaha's builders, architects, interior designers, and contractors. Whether you own your home, are in the process of building or renovating, or just browsing ideas for your dream home, this annual event provides the latest trends and ideas you can put to use.

This year’s Street of Dreams was held at the Bluewater development in Valley, Nebraska and featured eight luxurious lake homes that ranged from $750,000 to $1.7 million. McKay Landscape Lighting designed and installed the landscape lighting at the properties of Luxe Collective and Landmark Performance Homes. While there, our team noticed the following lake home trends:

Smart Home Technology:

Smart home technology allows homeowners to control the automation of their home. The one at the Luxe Collective home makes it easy for the homeowners to control everything from the thermostat and sound system to the interior and exterior lights, using a single smartphone app.

Outdoor Entertaining:

Over the past couple of years, homeowners have been making renovations that allow for outdoor living and entertaining opportunities. The homes at the Street of Dreams had large outdoor living areas with features such as an outdoor fireplace, kitchen, pool, or all of the above. Some of the outdoor areas had motorized retractable screens that enclose the area with a touch of a button and disappear when you don't need them.

Beach Design Features:

With sandy beaches in the backyard, homes had an outdoor shower, separate entry point, bathroom, or other design features that provide beachgoers an easy solution to clean the sand off themselves before entering the home. One of the properties installed a rinse station near the beach area that can quickly wash the sand from your feet.

LED Lighting:

Homes were well lit inside and out using LED technology, which allows for a lower wattage, longer life, and energy efficiency.

Home Features & Design:

Some amenities included spa-like bathrooms, walk-in pantries, chef kitchens, home gyms, and home theater rooms. There are no basements at the homes at Blue Water so the upstairs rooms provided all the indoor entertaining you'd normally find in the basement. Each year, all the featured homes are impeccably designed and showcase the latest interior design concepts. This year was no exception.

We are honored to have the opportunity to showcase our workmanship at this annual event and can't wait to see what next year brings!
