It's always exciting walking through any of our outdoor lighting design projects at night. Especially when it has specialty applications that not only challenged our team and their craftsmanship skills but also ended up looking really cool.

For this recent project, inspired by Colonial Early Classical Revival, we had the opportunity to work with Bloomfield Custom Homes and Frasier-Martis Architects.

Architectural Lighting

The long tree-lined driveway welcomes you onto the property. Emphasizing the trees creates ambient light in the yard that also gives an inviting ambiance and increases visibility for the homeowners and guests.

We used several landscape lighting techniques to enhance the colonial-inspired aesthetic, including front entrance columns, his and her garages, dormer windows, and other understated embellishments that make this home remarkable.

Deck & Pergola Lighting

The backyard has a large deck and unique pergola the homeowners enjoy using into the evenings. Our lighting install team was able to prewire it during the time of construction. The custom fixtures, painted to match, blend nicely and provide enough light for extended use as well as increase safety.

The center light on the pergola is controlled by a separate switch, which the homeowners can turn on for special occasions or outdoor dining.

Step Lighting

Installing the step lights, shown in this last photo, took some consideration and preparation. Chris, our install crew leader, built a wood frame to hold where the fixtures would go and then placed it around the steps before they poured the concrete. It turned out great and made the installation go much smoother than waiting until after the concrete was already in place to then drill, cut, and wire it all.
