It’s time to spring forward. To be on time for your Sunday’s activities, remember to turn your clocks forward one hour before going to bed. While you are changing the clocks, don't forget to reset your outdoor lighting timer too.

Update: We added this short video showing you how to reset your outdoor lighting timer for spring. If you need to fall back, you'll want to watch this video here»

Step 1: Locate Your Transformer

Most transformers are located either outside of the home (usually near the other utility boxes) or inside the garage. You'll want to open the door by unlatching the hook. Your timer should look similar to the one in the photo below. If you have difficulty locating your transformer or timer, please do not hesitate to contact us for help.

Step 2: Find the Current Time of Day

In the photo, for example, the current time of day is as close to 7 am - notice the 7 right above “TIME OF DAY” located in the center of the timer. Most timers will have this feature located in the center, but it could vary depending on the timer.

Step 3: Turn the Dial to the Current Time of Day or Forward One Hour

The light portion of the dial has the AM hours and the dark portion has the PM hours. This helpful to ensure that your timer gets set for the correct time of day. You'll want to turn the dial to the current time of day or forward one hour. Some timers tend to lose time, so it's good to check it periodically - once or twice a year around daylight savings time should suffice.

If you're wondering about the pins, the green pin indicates when your timer is set to turn on and the red pin indicates when it will turn off. Most people have one of each pin unless their lights are set to come on and off at different times throughout the night. But, you don't need to move or change these pins.

To make sure your timer is correctly set, look outside to see if your landscape lights are on. If they are on and shouldn't be, it might be set for the wrong time of day and you'll need to adjust the dial. If that is not the case, you can always contact us with questions.
