Illuminating Architectural Features: Well Lights

Written by McKay Lighting | 11/19/2021

Using well lights to highlight various architectural features on houses is becoming more prevalent in landscape lighting designs recently. We see many customers having columns, arches and garages that they want to subtly illuminate, and well lights are the right solution in many cases.

Because our expert lighting professionals can install well lights flush into hardscapes, these fixtures often go unnoticed day and night while providing ample illumination. Installing well lights is a task that should definitely be left to our professionals. Take a look at some of our favorite projects where well lights were installed below.

Garage Well Lighting

When creating a lighting design for a space like a garage, safety is a primary concern we address in our lighting plan. Often times, garages are in a hidden area of the home that aren't as lit as other parts. Adding well lights around the garage ensures an extra amount of security for any type of home and softly shines light on a space one may think landscape lights can't be installed.

Column Well Lighting

Uplighting columns is anther application of well lights that can enhance the look of your home from dusk till dawn. The addition of well lights to columns, especially on traditional-style homes like the one pictured above, can add sophistication and a focal point in a comprehensive landscape lighting design.
