We shared a story of a particular job we installed this year and discussed how we improved the client’s sense of security and safety while outdoors at night. We recently installed lighting for Mutual of Omaha’s statue of US Senior Open golfer, Fred Funk. If you are down by Midtown Crossing, be sure to check out Fred Funk at night just outside of Mutual of Omaha. Take a look at this video of the installation and lighting design that went into lighting up Fred Funk.
Be sure to pick up a copy of June’s Issue of This Old House. One of our lighting designers, Andrew Coleman, was quoted in the spread discussing maintaining your lighting system and adding pathlighting to your “late-night dreamscape.” A McKay picture was featured in the article as well.

Our work was recently featured in an article on Houzz.com by Amy Renea called “Outdoor Lighting to Make Your Home and Landscape Glow”. The article was a very informative about various types of outdoor lighting and shows work from a number of other prominent outdoor lighting companies from across the country. We were featured in an article written by Thad Orr called “New Expert Walkway Lighting Tips” on LandscapingNetwork.com. Landscape lighting is not a subject to be taken lightly. Specifically pathway lighting can mean the difference between a path that is fully functional and safe to walk at night, to one that cannot be used at all. For this reason The Landscaping Network has published a handy article featuring expert tips on walkway lighting.
This fall we finished the second phase of our outdoor lighting design at The Players Club at Deer Creek. It features downlighting on the putting green and uplighting on south trees by clubhouse. Check out the nice write up in there October Newsletter. So the next time you finish your round of golf at dusk you will be able to see a little better on your way back to the car.
Our photos were featured in this article called “The Top 3 Ways to Light Up Your Landscape” by Margie Grace on Houzz.com. It is a great article on the different ways to use outdoor lighting as she mentions her three S’s: Safety, Security and Sexy to landscape lighting.
Our worked was recently featured in the July/August 2012 Inspired Home Omaha magazine. Our lights are featured in two different stories called, “The Backyard Oasis” on page 38 and “Paradise at Home” on page 58. They were two great projects and we were proud to be a part of both of them.

This summer we were asked to illuminate a special project for the Mutual of Omaha to promote the 2012 USA Olympic Swim Trails in Omaha. The Mutual of Omaha is a sponsor of the USA Olympic Swim Team. An artist out of Minnesota sculpted a Giant Swimmer coming out of the water and we were ask to light it. Thank you to Mutual of Omaha for allowing us to be on a one of kind project, we had a great time and are proud to call Omaha our home.
This past spring we were asked to partner with Matthew Placzek, local artist and fountain designer to illuminate his newest piece called “Aquatic Rhapsody” at the new Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium inside Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo. When you get a chance to visit the zoo, make sure you check it out this special project. We were honored to be apart of it and hope Omaha enjoys it for years to come.
