McKay Landscape Lighting has experience lighting a number of different aspects of a property. One unique aspect that is often requested is outdoor pavilion lighting. Pavilions are an integral part of a property and a McKay lighting design provides adequate lighting to ensure that it commands attention after the sun has set.
Often, high-powered commercial lighting is used to light a pavilion. These types of high-voltage lights provide too much light and overpower the structure causing glare, making it difficult to enjoy the outdoor living area.
At McKay, we use a combination of low voltage up lighting and down lighting in our pavilion lighting designs. This combination allows for a much softer light that looks great at night while allowing you to enjoy your outdoor living space deeper into the night. To enhance a pavilions architectural features, up lights are used at the base surrounding the structure allowing to light from the ground up.
Down lighting also plays an integral part into an outdoor pavilion lighting design. There are two options for incorporate down lighting. First, down lighting from any trees near the pavilion to light the top of the structure as well as paths leading to the pavilion. Second, down lighting from within pavilion provides a soft light to the inside of the structure. Installing down lighting within a pavilion commands great attention to detail. McKay's lighting technicians have perfectly mastered making sure that all the wire is hidden and the light is directed perfectly. You can rest assured that the lights within your pavilion are perfectly installed and hidden as much as possible, so that you do not see the fixture during the day.
These low voltage lighting techniques will make your structure look great at night, and it will be much more enjoyable, as well as safer, for anyone sitting within the pavilion or walking nearby.
